Soirée à Paris

Petit Bateau top 2

This Petit Bateau sweater has become the item I wear the most. Among the children’s clothes, cotton T-shirts and panties of this beloved French brand, you can occasionally find stylish gems like this one. (And it’s now on sale!)

Petit Bateau whole look

I usually wear this top with dark skinny jeans whenever I eat out with friends or just to make myself feel good and comfortable at home. It’s simple yet original with its big golden buttons. I also love to use casual pieces like this sweatshirt if a little dressing up is required. When some of my girlfriends might complain that they have nothing to wear for a certain occasion, I’ll be the one putting together a few simple items with nice accessories and red lips. I’m a firm believer that the look you are searching for is most of the time already in your wardrobe.

I might wear this look to Palais Garnier for my last ballet of the season on Saturday. It should be fitting among the gold and red chairs and the lively colors of Chagall’s ceiling. I invited my parents to see La Sylphide, a beautiful classical piece, as a late birthday / Mothers’ Day / Fathers’ Day present. Then on Sunday we plan on taking the train to Versailles to visit the château and its gardens. It’s a trip I always look forward to for the beauty and history of the place. (And I’ll publish my pictures on Instagram of course.) I hope you spend a lovely weekend as well!

Petit Bateau top 3

  3. Oh, how lovely to see an outfit post from you, Anne – I read all of your posts, of course, but I always think it’s wonderful to get to see a blogger make a personal appearance, especially when that personal appearance takes place in the garden at the Musee Rodin :) And I love this outfit.

I couldn’t agree more with what the rest of the commenters have said. So chic, understated and polished. Looks like we’re both huge fans of Petit Bateau & Comptoir des Cotonniers :P

Love you style, Anne! It’s very classic and chic.

  9. Thank you for your lovely comments! It means a lot to the most camera-shy person in Paris ;-)
    Ludgero, the pleasure was mutual.

You are correct when it comes to these things Anne- simple pieces, we already have in our closet, and of course a red lip are usually all we need for a night out. Being pregnant has really forced me to shop the old closet- and I am glad for it. Been pulling out some real gems lately!

  11. Simplicity at its best. Flawless (again!).
